I am headed up to Reading this weekend, would hope to meet some of the people on this board while I'm there. Also my car has Valences carbon Fiber products inside and hopefully their airboxes, so if you would like see see the quality of Chris's products. Who is planning on going?

I will be there showing my car and judging. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to judge my car. Seriously, we should post Fchat signs so that we can find each other. I always read about other Fchat members attending this show and not meeting them.

I just got off the phone with Pietro. He's in charge of the event.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, they are limiting the number of attendees this year because of issues with the Country Club.

He's faxing me a last minute form, that I have to overnight back to him.

    Stay tuned.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought you only needed to pay if you were planning on attending the lunchen. I went last year without paying for a ticket. If that the case I guess its too late for me to get a ticket, the info I have says reistration form must be received by May 7th. Would like to sure before I drive up there.

Morrie I am with you last year I showed up just to see the cars and didn't need a ticket. They just waived us on in. Is anyone positive you need a ticket just to see the cars?

    Erik.

I can only tell you what Pietro told me. "No ticket, no entrance. There will be security checking at the gate, if your name is not on the list, they will not admit you."

Now, I must add, that Pietro and I were not exaclty communicating clearly with each other, and there may be some room for interpretation, but, that's what he said.

He may have meant for the competition, but I can't really say that for sure. I made it clear that I just wanted to look at the cars, not compete, and he told me to get on the list to be admitted. There was a problem last year with the members being upset at the number of cars, or something.

Can't tell you more than that.

I got tickets yesterday by overnighting him the form. I'm going to call him a little later this morning to confirm it with him, and I'll let you all know what he says.

Call Pietro, he seems like a pretty understanding guy. I'm sure he'll take care of you.

If yuo mention our friend Gary's name, it will help. It did with me. Apparently he and Gary are big time buddies. Gary eill be there with his 308, even if he has to trailer it.

I just got off of the phone with Pietro and he told me not to come. He was very short on the phone and I said that I would be happy to pass this info along for him. It is not open to the public and I quote " We not not want people to come", so I won't. It is sad to see an event that I have looked forward to in years past turn into such a closed event.

When I spoke with Francis about it today at Algar, he indicated that the country club almost cancelled the event because of the general public paking on their fairways, ruining their grass, and generally being obnoxious.

So, I guess all of us well heeled Fcar guys don't always behave in a manner appropriate for the Reading Country Club.

Can't say as I blame them for not wanting to have their club all torn up, and maybe Pietro is feeling a little pressured, since the whole deal is happening in a couple of days.

It is not like people just parked anywhere they wanted, folks parked where they were told to park. The folks running the event were in charge of where to park. Sound like they should look for an other place to hold it.

It seemed to me that Pietro was afraid of just that possibility and was working hard to keep the folks at RCC happy.

It's his gig, so we have to live with his rules. Said there would be in excess of 150 cars there.

I'll take tons of pix, post them on a web page or two when I get back.

I'll be there but must say, after reading the previous posts, I'm disappointed about the elitest tone of the event. At least for me, part of the appeal of going to an event like this is to share the car with the 'public' and that's what I thought it was going to be. I don't really care about going to an exclusive country club where they will keep people out who have a genuine interest in the cars. I understand it's Pietro's event and he has a number of constituencies he's trying to please but it's too bad they can't figure out a way to let more people participate.
