I did mine with no other changes, just swapped them out real quick one afternoon and I was pretty impressed. Seems to run smoother, better throttle response, and definitely better fuel mileage. They are just a quick plug and play swap and give way better fuel atomization etc.
Yeah, I switched to Oside Tiger replacements; they're 4-hole versus stock single hole. I like them better, plus they are rated for slightly higher output to support minor mods to your intake. They are also very cheap compared to stock.
Here's a pic from the AROC national meet in Nashville track day at National Corvette Museum Motorsport track day. Here is a link to two laps in the GTV-6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6W8ujVBi-vY My son and I drove the car. Took 1st and 2nd in class. He beat me my 0.3 sec. (I taught him well, at least that's my story!) 3.0L with mild cam upgrade and a limited slip diff. Cage, lowered and stiffer with Bilsteins and Kirkey racing seat, 5 point harness. I like your exhausts. What is your opinion on the cats? I'm looking for a mild boost in power and need to hear SOMETHING from the pipes. Some posts discuss concerns about exhaust valve clearances with increased flow. Is that overblown? As you can see from above, I have a track car so the 348 is for street use only. To be honest, I doubt I'd be any faster in the 348 compared to my GTV-6!
@vjlax18 - It's such a difference with the painted lowers and modern wheels. The car looks shorter and lower. I know its a matter of taste but I like it. Maybe in 10 years it will be in the category where original is more appealing like the 308 ands 328 are now but until then Ill mod it. Easy to go back. @vvassallo - I like all your recommendations. I plan on things in this order: 1- suspension setup. I need to get it handling proper. It's squrly above 90 and too much throttle lift oversteer. The rear spacers and proper tire pressure made a big difference. 2- Exhaust and/or cat delete and repair small crack and chip in air dam and paint lowers red. 3- Seats - I tend to agree that racing seats in street cars are somewhat boy-raceresque, if that's a word. But I hope to find a supportive comfortable seat that doesn't scream "Fast and Furious".
