I just installed a"real" carbon fiber license plate holder on my 360.( The instructions use the word "Real" 4 times) People of my ethnic background are not known to be mechanically inclined and I've always had trouble assembling and repairing things. I took this job on only because it had to be the simplest "alteration" to a car immaginable and I'd successfully done it in the past.
First off,it came already assembled so I had to disassemble it. I was unable to understand the instructions which came with a simple plastic pin.I finally gave up and just physically pulled it apart. The thing cost an astounding $50,but they didn't include the 4 needed screws. I used the 2 screws from the existing frame and left 2 holes open, thus saving wieght and valuable time. There are 4 tabs which are supposed to go from the mounting bracket to the carbon frame.I could only get 3 of them into the holes and finally gave up on that instruction. I'm praying that the 2 missing screws and 1 missing tab won't cause the plate to pop off when I hit the first bump, rise up and crack my glass engine cover. My insurance would cover it,but then there's the $1000 deductable.
I'm expecting the dramatic weight savings of the "real carbon fiber" and the aerodynamic shape to improve my lap times, if I ever get the nerve to get on the track. Now,when asked about the car,I can say"It's mostly made of aluminum but it has a certain amount of real carbon fiber on it, in strategic locations, just like the Enzo, and it has the world's most expensive license plate holder".

I totally chuckled at your post, having just done the SAME thing (including struggling to get those freekin' little pins out). I just put the REAL carbon fiber on my M5, but I'm waiting for my new plate before I add the performance-enhancing REAL carbon fiber to the 360...

I would love to help you however.........People of MY ethnicity would never spend $50.00 on a license plate frame.

People of my ethnicity designed and built Ferrari. I drive them. Nifty little plate frames are for the ghetto. IMHO.
