Thought I start a thread of stories where you have heard something so damn funny and or stupid that you cant believe.Hopefully no-one gets to badly hurt. So here goes:

I know this guy who decided to be the contractor on his own home. He knows nothing of the biz, not even a handy man. Hires everyone, electricians, plumbers everyone. One day during construction(almost finished) he takes his wife for a tour. They are on the top floor of a two storey home. Lo and behold does she not fall right through the floor, then the main floor and into the basement. She had 3 broken ribs, 2 broken arms, and a very fractured leg. Was in the hospital for a month. Luckily shes alright now.

I find this funny because Im a firm believer that you should really stick to your profession, or at least not try one to risky.

I have a friend who has just been divorced from an insane woman. Over the last 3 years {they were apart}, she tried to burn down the house he bought before they were married, while he was paying all the bills and giving her a few hundred a month to spend. She didn't pay the oil bills with the money he gave her for 6 months, she didn't pay the mortgage for 5 months. He's in the navy and was out to sea. She filled the 3 story house with many many pounds of dog poo, she has 2 rather large dogs but some of it was found to be human. She sold everything in the house that the court said was his, she burned his 1970's mustang in his garage while he was at sea, she had a live in boyfriend in the house and he still couldn't get the divorce to go through! She made a claim to one of his XO's and got him demoted for spousal abuse even though he was at sea on the date that she claimed it happened. She ran up his credit cards, and sold a minivan that was in both of their names, then made the court order him to buy her a new car, so she could move around easier.

Last week, she tore up the hardwood floor and smashed holes in the walls and the police won't go near the house, claiming it's between them.

Does this guy have the worst luck ever!? And does she get away with murder!?

    Yes, to both questions.

Sue the government, divorce and have the wife committed, write a book and sell it and the movie rights. Its a long hard road to get to that point but after that kind of nightmare, he can put everyone's balls (and head) in a vice for the grief they've caused. Just so you know, when you've been demoted in the service that generally means your career has ended or has been severely stunted damaging any chances of reaching senior ranks. Thats if you're enlisted. If you're an officer, you're pretty much frozen in that rank for the rest of your career, LOL.

He's 3 years away from retiring and I'm not sure but i think he has or is close to having the record for most months out to sea. He's never had a land posting for more than a couple of months. And had "at sea" postings for 12 years straight.

And he's too "straight arrow" to write a book about it.

Being demoted based on insane of the spouse on the mainland without justification will definitely cost the guy some retirement pay over the course of his life. Depending on the rank, that can be hundreds or more per month. Not to mention the shame of being demoted and having that stigma around you for months or years. I hope he's not letting the demotion slide unless there's something he's NOT telling to make it stick.

He's of course trying to sort it out but for some reason he can't get anyone to listen.

The wife sold his comc book collection "had them when he was a kid, some are rare and it was valued at 20k or somthing huge like that and he can't get the court to do anything. He has a statement saying what's his/ hers and no one can take anything out of the house. He goes to the court and tries to get his collection or money back and he's told "there's no proof she took it". But she is the only one in the house! She also broke a bunch of windows in the garage and the police won't go over because it wasn't happening right then and there, it already happened so they call it a domestic problem and they won't get involved!

He has had a bunch of these kinds of things happen to him and there isn't anything being done. I feel for him because all he can do is just take it on the chin. I've been there when he wanted to take pictures and she's like a dog on a leash. He goes onto the step and she swings her arms like a nut! No control at all! The police and courts don't care about his complaints, his photos, his property being destroyed and he can't get any of that damage taken out of what he pays her every month! He lives on the East coast of the USA and I told him to drown the ***** in the ocean already and all he says is "well, I can;t do that".

I really can't believe the **** she gets away with.

I would have given her a brick party already.

Thanks for the reminder that being single isn't all that bad...................

He may as well have been single himself what with all of the time out to sea.

2 shots at my car at speed(70'ish), when I was 18. One bullet found in the flat left front tire. Everyone guessed it to be a 9mm.

If she can get away with all this, he should be able to get away with murder...

I agree, I broke up with my GF at the beginning of summer and was totally bummed. Then I spent the last two months watching my friends fight and deal with the general stupidity of theirs, while I've pursued easy summer, shore types. And this weekend laying on the beach, listening to my friend's girlfriend complaining, I realized, you know, this is not so bad at all.

Wow. I'd find a way for her to "disappear".

Seriously, you'd have to be a real patient person to deal with this.
