I was looking around a used book store today and found a coffee table book, "Ferrari" by Hartmut Lehbrink and Rainer W Schlegelilch. It was published in1995, printed in France.

On the inside cover page there are two inscriptions which, being unable to read Italian, I cannot decipher. The first is signed "Colette" and the second one, "Noel, 1999". I have no idea who they are addressed to.

I will try to copy the second here but it is kind of hard to read. Not great penmanship. "Mon grand Mika, je te souhaite une nouvelle vie pleine de bonnes choses et t'offre le livre wn souvenir de votre amitie. Tres affectueuscment atoi. Noel, 1999. I would imagine there are some misspelled words there but Noel's writing is difficult..........

The forward is written by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. At the bottom of the forward is a signature written in a sharpie that looks genuine but it may be a reproduction published in all these books. Does anyone know if I accidentally stumbled upon a real collectible or if the signature is something that appears in all the copies?

Can anyone help me out here? If it is real I will place it in the collection next to my other book with the forward signed by Sir Stirling Moss. If not, it goes on the coffee table to be thumbed through regularly. It has some really beautiful photos of some of my favorite cars.

I hate to correct you, but this is French. Also Noel,1999 would mean Christmas '99.
I am sorry but I can not be of any help with the signature.

Okay, my mistake. But, I can't read French (francais)either so I guess it does not matter what language it is in.

I will see if I can scan the signature in and get a good reproduction of it.

Noel 1999 means it was a christmas present - from Colette to Mika?
The de Montezemolo autograph appears in my book as well. It is printed.

How many 'coffee table books' do you really need when you do not even own a coffee table!!!

Okay, thanks a lot. At least I still have the real Stirling Moss signature. I watched him do it for me. And at least I only paid $2 for the book. It is still a very good deal in good shape for $2. I was just hoping beyond hope that it might be real,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well, it is real, just a photocopy....
