I owned the car from 1972 until 1978. Sorry to disillusion, however, the car drove like a piece of junk on the track and I therefore sold it. I loaned the car to my friend, and late, James Garner for his use in the Rockford Files. Stuart
Claudio never owned 3987, he was my mechanic. I bought the car from Stephen Mitchell in 1972 and sold it to David Gaon and Spencer Stillman in 1978. They, in turn, sold it to Robert Walker. I loaned the car to my late friend and patient James Garner who used the car in the Rockford Files. Stuart Baumgard MD
On a related but slightly different note the driving style and stunt moves in the Rockford files inspired my teenage driving years and gave me a love of camaros and firebirds. "Rockford" could do qmazing stuff with those cars and at age 16 I attempted to do same. Turns out reversing at high speed, locking the rear bakes to doia 180 and shooting off forwards is really hard to control when the handbrake is of the locking footpedal type and you have no clue.
