Without boring you as to the reasons I have 6 weeks max to find a RHD, sub25k mile, Corsa Rosso Red / Crema, Manual F355 GTS or Spyder in the UK and I currently have a very tough choice between 2. I need input please.

    Option 1:

1998 Spider, 1 owner car, 16500 miles, super condition BUT 2 large 5 year gaps in the service history. I can be pretty sure the car is solid enough, but for resale a good 5 or 10 years down the line is this going to bother someone else (possibly paying substantially more than me now) as much as it bothers me? Price before negotiation 140k Sterling (approx. $200k)

    Option 2:

1996 GTS, 2 Owner car, 20500 Miles, good condition BUT needs some work which owner is willing to throw into the price. This car IS however very original and has a very comprehensive, regular, near ideal service history. Price before negotiation 140k Sterling (approx. $200k)

I think I prefer the lines of a GTS over a Spider but out of these 2 examples the Spider looks more impressive out of the two in their current state.

My objective is to enjoy the car for a max of 500 miles per year, keep for several years ideally. Its both enjoyment and investment, hence the history is important, but is it more important than less owners, less miles and the overall condition?

btw both examples are from highly reputed dealers here in the UK.
