I have a little paint problem in my engine intake vents. A little crazing, checking.

So, I take the Dino to the body shop today.

We look at this and that and distractedly we punch in numbers to the computer. I sit in the body shop victim chair and look at old magazines...Body shop guys wander by and gawk at the car. Ho hum...work-a-day-grunts-oh-look-a-ferrari-lets-get-a-beer-damn-it's 5-o'clock-----

And in the end, I have a quote for $1248 (they must not have the memo to charge Ferrari guys triple) , and so I'm not too unhappy with the experience.

I get in the Dino and do the Dino-start-and-you-just-have-to-do-everything-right-and-it-fires-with-a-loud-BLLLAP..BWAPPRRRR..pummmp-pummmp---idle......!

And all the sudden I realize, a little crazed paint.... a little chipped rocker paint... who the f**k cares? DAMN, this is ONE COOL CAR! AmI the luckiest son of a b*tch in the world?

Out of curiosity, what is included in the $1248 quote?

My car has some paint crazing and checking, particularly in the area where the "roll hoop" joins the body (near the intake vents), but I consider it to be patina and wouldn't want to lose it at this point. Other than that, the paint has come through 35 years exceptionally well.

Repair if the areas in the vent holes, repaint basically doors and rear quarters up onto the sail panels (to blend), remove all the door hardware etc.

After I got to thinking about it I realized I have a quart of the original paint (thanks Dave!!!), that might save a lot of work.

Uro, I've often had the exact same feeling! Take your Dino to the local gas station to fill the tank, jump in, go through the starting procedure, let it idle for a bit as the young attendants watch slack-jawed, and suddenly you feel like the king of the hill! Fred

When you buy a car from me you get EVERYTHING I have in the garage. (Did you find the used shop towels yet?) :D

Paint should be good, an was sealed up good and proper. At least they can figgur out the formula, although I am a bit disappointed with the paint if it's really crazed.
