The seats are also not original on that GTBi. Did you notice how they have a red stripe going through the center. Still it seems that all B's seem to be bringing in very good money. Not many made.

IMO the Haggerty valuation is behind the curve on alot of cars I have noticed. I wish I could buy some at some of the values they list.

He can knock anything he likes. Restored or unrestored, that doesn't excuse broken, worn out and missing parts. 308 GTBs may be rare in the US but they are far from a "protected species". That car is also an 82 which are not the cars that collectors are paying for.

I'm with you there and, personally, wouldn't pay more than $40k for the best "i" series 308. Would easily go for a QV instead.

Agreed. I particularly enjoy engine rebuilding / improving performance rather than full body restoration. It's easier, less costly and takes less time!

Would love to see a carb or QV in a great condition at that price (50k). When is the last time this happened?

So this is becoming rare, or at least not common. All I have seen so far in fair to good condition GTBs and QVs is around 70-75k and up.

Since there is one every few months and more than one person looking for them, it will be luck to be able to find such an opportunity.

Very true. I "overpaid" for my GTS at the time based on the market, but I knew it was the one for me and never looked back. Now it's worth multiples of what I paid, but even if it had depreciated I would feel the same way.

I waited a looooong time to find my Euro GTB. Thank god I finally did before this market craziness. As much as I love my car $90k buys a long list of great cars and I have to honestly say I wouldn't be in a 308 at this current value range.

IMO $90k should buy you a perfect, platinum winning car.mor it's not worth it. The cars I'm seeing for sale now at this price don't even have clean engine bays! Red mist is a crazy thing.

Ferrari related: 550 Maranello, 355 GTB, 360 manual coupe, TR.

The 550 and TR have a proper Ferrari engine. Plus, I think TR's are an essential Ferrari icon and are seriously undervalued right now. The 360 Coupe because I'm a sucker for anything close to the Stradale. Probably a 355 GTB the most because it is such a wicked car and is IMO the best modern sounding Ferrari ever when equipped with a Tubi. It is the perfect combination of modern convinces and manual feel for me.

I know this is utter sacrilege to most here but a 308 with GTO style flares (NOT a GTO replica) powered by a 355 engine would be the ultimate car for me.

    Sorry for the derail!

I have always been curious about this car. It has been listed here locally on CL for the last year for $53k. The price was high for most of the last year but it doesn't look so bad now in this bubble. Poor ad and pictures but if you like black and brown interior it could be cool. If I had known to were coming out I would have picked you up in the QV and gone to look at it with you. I hope you get it.

For the last year? Interesting. I wonder if anyone went and saw it.

And if you have some time, I'll be in SF until Wednesday night.

    I'm landing at 2pm btw :)

The owner states that these are the original seats.

Had anyone seen that color combination?

Take this with a grain of salt.

I have never seen 2-tone seats in a 3x8 that were original. Doesn't mean it couldn't have been done, I have just never seen it. Piping only, yes.

Also the bolsters look too pillowy to me but it might just be the camera angle/lens. Check the headrests to see if the embossed cavalino is still there.

I've seen pictures of a couple different cars with 2-tone seats that claim to be original, but they were a combination of leather and fabric. One was for sale in the UK last year, 2-tone with tan leather and very light red cloth. I think it's possible those seats are original, but definitely check it out very carefully. The cavallino in the headrest would be an excellent indicator.

Agreed. They are at too puffy and out of proportion to be original. Guarantee the foam was redone. I just looked at mine and they don't even look remotely close to the seats in that pic.

I also just noticed, why would the rear shelf be white? The car is dark interior color. I know the headliner are white but in my car the shelf is black.
And from the poor quality pictures there seem to be NO horse in the headrest. In which year did they start to have the horse, is it with the injected models?
