Go to www.palaciosbeacon.com. This is the online newspaper of a small Texas town that is directly in the path of Category 4 Rita. Go to their homepage and look to the left and click on the Hurricane Rita button. Projected paths, satellite photos and a lot of other good weather stuff.

This town was hit by Category 4 Carla back in 1961 and almost entirely leveled. They rebuilt and take hurricanes very seriously. They will start a mandatory evacuation at 6pm this evening. For a good model of preparation, take a look at the instructions they give, including emergency preparedness kits.

My mom met my dad in Palacios and got married there so I have some attachment to it. My grandfather is also buried there. Let's all pray for these folks in the path. If you do not believe in praying, just think something positive for them............................
