I have a short story which leads to a question:

I'm rebuilding the braking system on my car, and while doing so, decided to purchase Goodridge stainless steel brake hoses from our friends at Superperformance, kit SP23, to replace my worn out factory hoses.

The front pieces of the Goodridge kit fit great, but the rears ended up being a bit long. I measured my factory hoses at 11.5" jam nut base to jam nut base, while the Goodridge kit measures out at 13.25". This causes the line to sit with an odd bend and would allow it to flop over and hit the axle.

"Probably it's a kit for a different year," I thought to myself. I contacted Superperformance stating as much and sent them pictures and measurements. They seem to think the kit is correct, to sum up my conversation with them, so I moved on to ultimately (after winding through the phone tree and talking to a few folks) chatting with Goodridge's US motorcycle division, who are now making me a custom set of lines in the correct length.

So here's my question for the experts:

Did Ferrari use different length rear brake hoses from different year to different year, from different market to different market (US/Europe?), or different model to model (GTB/GTS?). I find it interesting that different lengths are floating around out there on the market, and also think that it might be helpful for the next person looking to order a set of new brake hoses.

The rear lines for all of the 308s were 300mm in length. The only difference between the early cars and the late cars was the method in which the line secured to the chassis (clip or large jam nut).

300mm-ish seems to track with my 11.5" OEM estimate (around 292mm) from my 77 308 GTB -- it's interesting that we're seeing ~13" / ~330mm or so from suppliers

325mm is the nominal length of most Ferrari front lines....

I'll have to measure what I ended up with on my fronts. They look really good so I tend to believe that they're correct.

I just did some additional measuring here (somewhat imprecise with string) and the front goodridge lines are approximately 14.5" or 370mm. Again this seems okay in this case -- fitment is fine. Here's an example of the front right at full lock. Nothing like the problems I'm having with the rear
