You guys were able to help me solve one electrical problem, now I have another! I have everything working except the rear defrost (which I will never use in Texas, but still want it working). I'm not certain if it's not working, or if the indicator light on the dash is just out. In any event, I cannot see any fuse or relay labeled rear defrost/demist.

I did just re-calibrate the LED lights for the heater indicators, so maybe I knocked something loose while in the console, but before I tear into it, I thought I would check to see if there were any ideas.

    Thanks

I went ahead and took the rocker switch out, disconnected it, cleaned both sides of the connections and put it back together with no luck.

    BTW, I have a 1987 328.

could be the bulb in the dash,if you do take the dash out and brake those little black inserts,I have plenty to help you out and check the wires on the window, use a volt meter to see if theres a current there, and there is a fuse,I'll check to see which one,I'll get back to you

The rear window heater shares a fuse with the RH window motors. Number 19 counting to left to right. 20A

If you have the 1989 328 Wiring Diagrams (34 pages) check Figure 7 (which is on 2 pages - pdf p 26-27). The window heater is at the very bottom of the page, balloon 152. (page2) Orange wire to connector 135, to connector 130 (page1)

Below is excised portion described above.

Thanks Paul and Mike, you helped me solve this. The fuses were fine, but neither window would work either (I hadn't even tried them in a while), so I checked the window lift relay and it was bad. When I switched the relay with another I knew was good, both the windows and the rear defrost work just fine.

Hopefully, this solves my last electrical item! Appreciate the help.

Mike, you are so right. I'm very much a novice at this, but do enjoy when I can tackle something and get it right. You and the others on the forum are a great help. Thanks so much.

most of us have been there and done that which helps,I've had a 1985 308qv for 2 years and can't wait to get another one someday. Its like having money in the bank.If you car is well sorted out and well documented you're not going to have a problem getting a good price back on your car.
