I have a 2011 599 60F1 with just over 300 miles. I have already made an appointment to have the car transported to FOCF where I purchased it. I have noticed a low pitched groaning noise from the rear of the car when turning slowly both right and left and during U Turn maneuvers. I have read old threads and I understand that the differential made this sound on some of the earlier cars. I also understand that a new differential oil from Shell was supposedly employed to remedy this. Any insight is welcome. I will avoid driving it until the car is sent back to the dealer in case something more serious may be amiss.

    Thanks for any technical insight.

My 2007 599 does the same thing. I noticed it right after I purchased it last June with 8600 miles. I've had the fluids changed and it still does the same thing. The car now has 11,000 miles. it hasn't gotten any worse or any better. If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd love to hear from you, too.

Sounds like you both need a small dose of limited slip differential additive. Small because too much can make the synchronizers too slippery to do their intended job. Talk to the head mechanic at your Ferrari dealership and tell him what you think is the problem and see what he says. He should have some experience with what to use.

See this ad and note they say to add one ounce at a time until the problem stops. Too much will cause problems, so slow and careful is the way to cure the groaning of the LSD plates. The Redline additive is used by many pros.

Had the same problem a few years ago and what Taz noted above fully solved the issue.

You're a good man Terry. I'd give you the winning lottery numbers if I knew 'em.

    Keep punching,
    John
