I own a black F430 and the rear bottom 'fins' were slighly scraped when the car went over uneven road. It looks like someone took a file to the very bottom. Not noticeable when standing near the car, but noticeable when approaching the car from the back (how I discovered it).

Any idea of cost to repair? or replace? Looks like the whole fin drops down easily. It's made of a fibrous composite plastic of some type. And what makes it so noticeable is that the fibers are white and the fins are charcoal gray.

    Thanks

Same happened to one of the fins on my rear diffuser on the F430. They are made of fiberglass. I had my damaged fin repaired at a fiberglass repair shop which also repairs fiberglass boat hulls,...etc. Give them the undamaged fin, so they can follow the exact curvature when repairing the scraped fin. They did a great job, then I had the fin sprayed in matte black paint......looked as new.
All you need to do is to drop your rear diffuser and unscrew the damaged fin from the diffuser......it's a very simple task and won't take you more then 15 minutes.

    Excellent! THanks

If one didn't know where to look, you would never notice, but since I know where, I can't stand it.
I need to find a fiberglass shop.

The "fin" is one body. The whole unit drops down so the damaged fin is adjacent to the undamaged one.

I wonder what it would cost to have Ferrari do it?

ferrari would make you replace the entire piece. Just find a good body shop...they will be able to fix it.

It can be very easily repaired. Just be aware that the four fins are not the same. The outer two fins are the same, and the inner two are same.

ive scratched mine numerous times but never bad enuf to get a proper fix .. as a quick fix i used fine sand paper to smooth the fibreglass edges and then black boot polish. unless you're really looking for it you can't notice the difference. quick and cheap.
