I tried to do a search but, there was a lot not related. I want to know how you remove the bearings from the hub. At first thought that I had to press them out but, then I realized that there is a snap ring in between them. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sam

Once the snap ring is removed a press is still required as the bearings tend to 'weld' themselves in over time.

But, the snap ring is in between the 2 bearings. Inside where I can't get to it unless I get one bearing out. I just can't picture how to get 1 bearing started.

    Thanks,
    Sam

I just did the ones on my Dino 246 which is a very similar set-up. I used a brass punch to move the central spacer to one side and then used the biggest socket that would fit into the hole and rest on the inner race of the bearing that is up against the snap ring. I inserted an extension into the socket and used my press to push out the bearing away from the snap ring. The extension is at an angle (you don't get a straight down shot at it) so go slow and be careful. As the bearing moves down you get a more straight down push on it. I would heat the area around the bearing with a heat gun to help loosen the grip on it. I didn't do that and it still came out OK. It's best not to push on the inner race but the bearings are not in all that tight and mine came out with no damage whatsoever. If you are replacing the bearings with new then its of no consequence anyway. Remove the spacer and snap ring and use a bigger socket to push out the other bearing in the normal fashion.

Sorry for not giving more accurate information Sam. The truth is that I cheated and had my mechanic disassemble my uprights for me as I do not have a press or the special tool for removing the stub axle nuts.

    Hello,
I am interested in the condition of your bearings also milage on your car. I wonder if the bearing could be cleaned and greased in place ?

The bearings by any standard are dirt cheap from Ferrari UK. Getting near them requires the removal of the stib axle which is the biggest part of the job. Once there, the two bearings are sealed and cannot be serviced in any way.

Do I try to drive the spacer down and out of one end first? Then get to the snap ring?

    Thanks!

Move the spacer to one side so you can insert a pushrod so it lands on the inner bearing race. Then you put the whole thing in a press and press the bearing out. Remove the snap ring and press out the other bearing.
