Just replaced our 2011 Cali with a 2016 California T with 4,300 miles. We've had the T just two days and the left rear quarter window has jammed. We put the top down with no issue. Drove around for an hour then returned home. As we were putting the top back up, the top closed fine but as the quarter windows were raising to close, we heard a grinding sound at the left rear quarter window and that window then stopped about a third of the way up. All the other windows closed fine. Turned the engine off then back on and lowered all the windows. All of them lowered fine. Then attempted to raise the windows and all raised fine except the left rear quarter window, which did not move from its fully lowered position. Have not attempted to reopen the top for fear of doing damage. Has anyone heard of the rear quarter windows jamming on the California or the Cali T?

Unfortunately mate, sounds like dealership time... likely just dirty gear or some other obstruction, but not worth the pain if you mess it up, let them deal with it.

One thing to note that I learnt.... always sort the hood up or down on a relatively flat surface, as my dealers warned they can be problematic if done on a slope, or out of kilter.... also, I’ve stopped to put roof down before and it hasn’t moved, thought it was broken, but the proximity sensor is really sensitive, so first thing to do if it happens is pull forwards a foot or so, and it’s always worked!

The grinding sound sounds like a window regulator cable may have snapped. This happened on a few of my previous cars. One was brand new like a day old. The grinding sound is as the thin cable from the regulator twists and knots and rubs up against itself. If it is I would not be stressed these are parts that do wear and snap and should be a easy fix.
