How does this even happen?!?! All of the rivets destroyed on a covered carrier from Indiana to California... weird!

    Anyways...

I have no idea where to do to patch this up. Anyone have any idea where one would go to have so super-duper rivets put in? Regular body shop? Upholsterer? The guys that make those studded t-shirts people pay hundred of dollars for?

    Thanks!

Body shop. Easy fix so don't sweat it. Most likely vibration from the trip. You're lucky it didn't fly off when you were driving.

Take it to a body shop and have them drill out the old rivets and pop the new one's in. You might want to look at doing the other side while your at it.

"You're lucky it didn't fly off when you were driving."

It wouldn't have. There's nothing worse than transporting a vehicle as far as vibration-induced damage.

It was being owned by someone else.

I guess it could've been worse.
I'm lucky I only need to fix 4 rivets.

Why not do it yourself? Simple enough I would think. Might need some fresh dumdum to seal around the frame.

    I tried.
The rivets weren't as tight as I'd like.
Probably need a pneumatic rivet gun to get it nice and tooooooight.

So thats how those windows come out. Neat

I would imagine if the rivets are loose when you did it you were using the wrong size ones. Sure the length and width were what was needed?

I will leave the window to the pros.
I am confident I can replace the rivets in the glovebox.

looks like aluminum #21 drill size. may have to go up a six as they expand the hole the first time they are shot, and " do -overs" tend to not pull properly. Placing a washer on the stem side9 go up 1 grip length) will also get a good tight pull. if the stem breaks off too long or too short the rivet is no good for holding loads and will fail in shear before tension.

How did the car go through India on the way to California from Indiana?

I'd put money on an 1/8" drill bit and 1/8" rivets. A pop rivet tool, handful of rivets, and a drill with an 1/8" bit and I bet you could have this fixed in 15 minutes.

If you plan on doing much work to a GT4 you had better get used to popping rivets. Never had to use a pneumatic one, didn't even know they existed.

    Good luck with the glovebox

I don't know what your skill level is, but I'll bet that you have more experience already with riveting in Ferrari side windows than 99.999% of the body shop employees in the country. Careful where you go. I hate paying someone to do a job worse than I could have done it myself, especially if I have to go back later and fix it.

May have to invest in a more "efficient" and "closer to commercial-grade" rivet gun.
