Rear Screen

Had my rear screen broken during restoration, when my old seal had been reused it looked pretty bad,so out it came and a new seal ordered, I wish that I had left it alone as it was broken during reinstalation.Thats over a year ago now and I have been running around with a plastic one,I have since bought a new screen the cost of getting an after market screen to AUS was more than the screen cost.Any way I need some advice,the screen I have is 210mm about 8.27inches at the middle I have had some measurements from Racerboy his screen is 81/2 inches 215 mm and the chrome strip is 210 mm centre to centre at the middle.I have with a bit of tweaking the chrome strip, got it all together but my chrome strip measurement is 218mm,I am thinking that my new seal maybe the problem if any body has a seal out could they measure the distance of the opening where the chrome strip slips into, to the outside top edge of the seal (top of screen) mine is about 20mm,the distance from outside to outside of the seal with glass and chrome strip in place is 257mm. May be this will still fit ok but thought I would put it out there for some advice before I try and instal it.

 

Thanks Jon,mine is the same as your measurement 23.40 so if you put your tape in the same position starting from the middle of the chrome strip to the middle of the chrome strip it should be 220mm I was thinking it should be 210mm that is why I need the measurements to check, if your measurement is 220mm Im ok.Thanks for your quick responce.
