I am 99% complete on my spider configuration but i did not see the option for the rear shelf in leather. I see that option is offered in the coupe. Is this option extracampanario ? If someone has ordered a spider with this option please forward me the option code and price...Also, the dealer is suggesting that i include the electric steering wheel option (elsc) - is this neccessary and does anyone know the price of that option....Thank you in advance

No it's not a special order. I ordered it. It comes with the lower tunnel in the same color.

I think that's it. You're dealer will know for sure. It's like $1200

My inbound spider has rear leather shelf without tunnel leather. However, if you want it WITHOUT tunnel in leather as I have done, it is extracampanario. It is the same price as CTU3. It is basically ordered as CTU3 with extracampanario of DELETE tunnel leather. Dealer fills out diagram showing where you want leather. If you just order CTU3 you will get tunnel done also. Hope this helps.

(see blue pozzi post to see full leather on tunnel)

After spending a fortune on carbon fiber I feel like a schmuck that I didn't even know about electric steering column. As long as same as my 360/430 with manual adjustment, I am not worried. On my 458 coupe it was standard as electric so I never even thought about it. Nor did dealer ask. We'll see if I screwed the pooch on that one!

No, it's a little Ferrari trick to make a few extra bucks. In 2010 to 2012, it was standard. In 2013 it magically appeared as an option.

Now just why do you think that is? :)

I think that is one of the worse things ferrari have done actually. Not exactly good for customer relations is it?..I note above how you havent thought to spec it on your new spider. Pretty poor on your dealer front not to mention that too.
For many the move to a spider or indeed a later coupe is from those who have had Italia's with electric adjustable steering column, so many would just presume it was the same.
I would be very annoyed to have my new car turn up wiithout it becasue I forgot to spec it & no one had mentioned it. I move the wheel about quite a lot during driving and last thing I would need is to be fiddling with a manual adjustment
Poor ferrari, very poor, a £200k car needs that as standard, as it used to be.

It's not the first time they've done this. Originally black calipers were standard and then they started charging for them. So, what's the "standard" color then if you don't want to pay for the optional colors? Well, instead of "black", they come in Matte black standard. :)

Matte black: Free. Shiny black: $1700.

Make any sense? Yes, it makes $1700 worth of sense :)

The U.S. Federal Reserve orders the Treasury Department to print more money, and it causes inflation. The ever-enlarging Ferrari options list results in inflation, and while it is like a printing press for Ferrari, no actual money is printed: it is instead extracted! Fred

+1. I've driven 30+ cars on a regular basis in my life and after a 1 or 2 day adjustment period, have never moved the steering wheel again. Are you moving it so often because of multiple drivers? I agree it's silly to charge for it, ridiculous for the dealer not to mention it -- then again, they probably didn't know!

When I ordered my spider the 2013 option and price list were not out. I don't blame the dealer for not knowing about change. Additionally, knowing that the manual adjustment is there means I NEVER would have paid for it anyway.
In regards to de contenting, I guess I would rather pay for options than pay a higher base price. At least in this case! Porsche is significantly worse as are Mercedes and BMW.
Several months back I did a little thread on "Scaglietti Randomness". Little did I know it was going to come back and bite me again!
Oh well, I guess you have to "pay to play."
Now if the damn thing would just get here already!
