Are these worth anything? I took them off and replaced them with Koni adjustables. I think they need rebuilding as the back of the car sagged and the height adjustment plumbing was all gone,

    Good day Jeff,

Those are the "infamous" load levellers that were only used on the 365/400 series autos. As for the rebuild-ability... I do not think they can be through the usual Koni service centres, as I heard that the rebuild parts are NLA. However, I could certainly be wrong and if so I hope someone will chime in with where, their experience, and cost.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day Simon,

I framed my comment carefully in that I stated:

"I do not think they can be through the usual Koni service centres, as I heard that the rebuild parts are NLA."

Note that I said the usual Koni Rebuild centres...however there are indeed those shops and people that are "resourceful" :) that might offer leveller rebuild services. That said, I think Bill M and another fellow, John fchat 365GTC/4, were the only two people that had rebuilt the load levellers. John told me that it was a lot of work needing special equipment along with Nitrogen gas. Like most things, anything can be done, but it may or may not make financial sense to do so.

Now, there could be others that can rebuild the levellers and if so, hopefully they will post up.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Hi Simon,
Have you tried Smooth Suspension Pty Ltd. 03 97351248.
They are in Victoria. Koni specialist that has done good work for me.
Might be worth repairing to sell.

Replaced them with adjustable Koni coil over shocks on the last 2 C4's I've had. Never had success rebuilding them. I have 2 pair in my shop... good for cores to conversion to the coil over route only, IMHO.

Because the early (Series 1) Load Levels are more easily replaced as you have done, they are not worth getting rebuild. The Series 2 400is are not as easy to replace due to the different top mounting point. I had one leaker and was lucky enough to find two NOS units, so I replace the leaker and his mate on the opposite side. I then sent the two old units for rebuilt at http://www.fjbshocks.com/, I never had to install them and they went with my cars new owner.

Thanks. Sounds like since they are Series One, they might be worth while rebuilding. Anybody want to make an offer (plus shipping, they're pretty heavy)

Too bad they don’t make a new batch of the originals. They worked wonderfully until they failed.

    Good day Jim,

The story I was told was that Ferrari pushed hard on Koni to make these load levellers for his cars and Koni obliged. However, it would seem there were no other auto manufacturers interested in these load levellers and so sales were limited to a handful of Ferrari's models (365, 400GT?, etc). Consequently, I suspect it was uneconomical for Koni to continue offering or maintaining (at least the last time I checked in 2017) this product.

    Cheers,

    Sam
