I have a 2016 California T - and in its annual service I was advised that one of the rear shock absorbers is leaking. They recommended changing both left and right rear shocks...

Is that correct? Is it best not to just replace the single one, and do both rears so they are both the same?

    Thanks for your input

I just had my rears done. Dealer sent them to Europe for a rebuild. Supposedly 3 times as much to replace them. It took over a month

I agree - you should replace both at the same time.

If one is leaking the other one will soon follow. That's what mine did

Continental in Chicago had mine rebuilt recently. They send them to Europe. Bad news is my car was out of commission for over a month. I was traveling so it didn't matter but expect a slow process. Maybe shop around between independent shops/dealer and evaluate replacement vs rebuild.
