    I was looking for the rear mirror caps for my 1985 308 in black. I was hoping someone here either had two to sell or knew someone looking to sell theirs. if anyone knows anyone looking to sell a part, or if anyone knows where I can purchase them please respond. Thanks

    One source is Unobtanium (Verell). Check out his website. I have a pair that I haven't installed yet. The material is quite hard, and per Verell should first be heated to 250F to soften. Otherwise the tabs that snap into the mirror base can break off. One approach is heat them in a toaster oven that can be set to that temperature. I might try a hair dryer or hot air gun, but first confirming with a thermometer that the temp is not too hot.

    Your post inspired me to finally put mine on. Preheated the oven to 250F, set the caps on a potholder, waited 20 minutes or so, and it softened them up just right -- they went on with no difficulty. Wear gloves obviously. Suggest ensuring your mirror is tight before putting these on.
