    Hi All,

Anyone know if the rear speaker panel (JBL/HiFi in my case) is attached with push-in clips so I can just pop it out or do I need to remove other trim pieces to get to other fasteners?

    Thanks!

I don't recall that being a factory option, it looks like an after market custom piece. Hopefully, someone here may have a similar set up and can chime in with suggestions.

That is definitely a custom job, so there is really no telling on how it is attached or fastened.

I would pry it a little bit with a plastic pry bar and see if you can see any clips as you gently lift.

    If so, then rip away.

That's 100% the factory JBL optional hifi rear speaker panel. Seen it on many cars. Ferrari part #83285212, which is different than the panel for the standard stereo.

Found a couple of identical used ones on eBay that show the back side, and looks like the standard Ferrari push-in clips are all that's holding it.

Correct, it’s a Ferrari option with the JBL, I have that on my ‘15 458…

    Cheers!

Curious what you’re going to do once you get that out - I am tempted to remove mine and upgrade the stereo. Please let us know what you learn on the removal!

My Spider has the upgraded stereo, and it looks nothing like yours.
Nice to see what the coupe's system looks like and how it compares with the Spider's.
I do like the set up and hope whatever you do improves your system.
The 2-tone effect looks pretty good.

Dang, I have the upgraded JBL system in my F8 and it doesn't have speakers there... presumably because of the hot tube.

The non JBL panel has three threaded stubs that protrude through holes in the firewall. You need to remove the rain gutters and the front trim panel in the engine compartment to remove the three nuts. A real pain to get that panel off. The JBL panel has 9 locking pins and 3 guide pins. It pops right off the firewall.

I have the same stereo on my car and after one day I decided to never listen to music in my car. At first I was excited that I had the “better” stereo option but to me it’s not worth listening to. My main problem is that the majority of the sound comes from behind me and the is no illusion of a front sound stage.

I’m definitely not going to alter the car to upgrade. I love the car and just enjoy it as a sports car.
