I have to replace my rear speakers, since they've seen better days, and I'm wondering if Mondial's even came with speakers in the back. I looked in the owner's manual, and couldn't find a reference except for the 4 front speakers (2 in the door, 2 in the dash).
Mine are located between the rear seat and the side panel. They sort of look factory, but I'm not sure. The speakers have a number code printed on the back (PP6500B20), but no other info regarding impedance. They are 6.5" diameter.
What is the impedance (ohms) of the stock speakers up front?
I do have an aftermarket Kenwood CD deck that a previous owner installed.
Anyways, any info would be great. I'll probably just replace them with some new 6.5" speakers and be done with it.
    cheers

    Hi,

I just replaced my speakers...I have a t, and the back speakers are located to the sides of the rear seats.....I went the economic route with the following:

Polk Audio DB501 5-Inch Coaxial Speakers
    Polk Audio DB651s Slim-Mount 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers

speakers cost $120 total (cheap) I went with an all digital bluetooth receiver from pioneer $60...I don't use any CDs anymore so no need for added complexity

You can find easy instructions on how to remove the door panel by doing a search.

I have no bass, but that's fine with me...I rather enjoy the engine to provide the low frequencies...

    ;)

The 1988 3.2 Mondial cabrio does not come with rear speakers, only doors and dash tweeters.
If you have rears, its something PO did. Here's how to replace the door speakers from when I did mine: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/mondial/350524-replacing-speakers-my-88-a.html

BTW, since you already have the wires there, just find a good replacement speaker in rears that matches up to size and watts, should be plug and play if you are going to keep the same unit.

    Cheers

Thanks for the quick replies! I've had the side door covers off before, so replacing the side speakers would be easy, although I think those are still good.
Interesting about the rear...they're integrated between the side of the rear seat and the side panel, but they must be aftermarket if they didn't come standard with the 3.2.
Thanks anyways! I guess I'll be buying two new speakers in the near future.

Hi Paul, I am going to guess the t's did not come from the factory with rear speakers. So yours are aftermarket?

Interesting I have these inserts in my bolster area that appear to be factory horses and speakers are underneath

It's damn hard to tell a "factory horse" from one that came in off the range. But if the speakers have the "Realistic" logo on the back of the magnet, we can call this: "case closed".

    Cheers,

Same location and setup as above pic, except mine are covered with a black cloth/carpet. Will post some pics when I have time.
