    Hi guys,

My 2002 360 Spider is currently in a workshop undergoing suspension rebuild. The mechanic has pulled out both rear tie rods and showed them to me, they appear to look differently as per the pics below - one has a smaller tie rod end and the other end has a little rubber insert, the other has a longer tie rod end and no rubber on the other end. The pics are from the internet, not from my actual car.
I did a quick search on a few parts websites and can't figure out which one is original and which (I presume) is aftermarket (hill engineering possibly?)
Does anyone know why they are different?

Well I kind of gathered that by looking at the diagrams. The question is, who made the other tie rod? Does it belong in my car, or is it for CS/Challenge etc?

And my car is Aussie delivered, only it was delivered in 2012 :)

google 'ferrari part#194791' and pics of both tie rods come up. Maybe one was superseded by the other at some point in time and both are valid parts, whom knows.

Your assumption is probably highly likely.

What are you getting done? My front bushes need replacing and I'm thinking of getting everything done. However, I don't know exactly what I need for "everything" however.

Early 360's had the shorter tie rod ends fitted that are the same up front. Later 360's and F430's had a longer tie rod end at the back (and the shorter one at the front).

If your car has one long and one short at the back I guess one was replaced at some point with the wrong part. It doesn't actually matter so long as the rear toe is correct.
