Hello Everyone! Has anyone been able to tint the rear window of a 355 Spider? The pictures (below) show it to be a foldable/plastic type - my tint guy says his tint will not stick to it (3M). Any suggestions are most appreciated... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ya you can get tinted plastic at most soft top installers etc... light to dark and in different colors i.e brown, green, blue. They must remove the top to install new plastic window.
I used to be in the tint business for 20+ years. Used to get this ? asked all the time on plastic conv windows. The issue is the "tint" or window film will not adhere properly to plastic. Also even if you get it to stick it will come off over time and the left over adhesive will ruin your rear plastic window. A company Madico made a product for a year or two but pulled it off the market after numerous failures. The only way I have seen this done is to take the top into an upholstery shop and have them replace the clear plastic with a tinted one. This can be done but not sure of the cost.
