    Anyone know how to obtain a set of Michlein 255 50ZR16. I wanted to match the 225 Michelins on the front but found they are no longer made. Perhaps someone has a set stored?

    I think the original Testarossa 16 inch wheels had Goodyear tires and the original Testarossa metric wheels had Michelin tires. I've got a set of the Michelin metric tires stored away. I just threw away a set of the original Goodyear tires. I'm currently running a new set of Kumho Ecsta's on the 16 inch wheels. The original rubber is now 20 years old and I was afraid to trust my life and car to them.

    Dear Ferraristi,

    Forget about old rubber (5 years max) on your TR. It's just not safe. No...you won't always see cracks.

    I have a 91 Testarossa and use sumitomo tires from the Tire Rack. They are really good tires. I have always had straight-line pulling problems with the michelin and the goodyears. I finally have great road manners with the sumitomos. .....funny, they're quite inexpensive for a complete set ( you don't mix and match...right? ) and I wasn't using price at all as a factor in buying new tires.

    Sham, whats the make of those tires? Sumitomo ? Are they v rated ? I need to take off my 7 yr old bridgestones this winter for mine. Ive heard that its hard to get the rears now and Dunlop(sp?) is the only brand currently with that size. Could you verify more info if you have.

    Dear Ferraristi,

    The tires are Sumitomo ZR rated tires in standard TR sizes of 225/50/ZR16 and 255/55/ZR 16. They are available from the " Tire Rack" in South Bend Indiana . They are a big tire mail order house. I have been buying tires from them since....ah well,....Miami Vice was on TV. :)
