Hate to have to ask this................ My newly detailed, rebuilt, installed TH 400 is leaking fluid from the rear seal. Probably incorrect seal installed by rebuilder, but question is twofold.

Has anyone pulled the diff and torque tube, replaced the rear seal? Any correct seal dimensions available?

    Thanks in advance...........

    Godspeed!

You can pull the diff and tube. It isn't fun, but you can do it.

Be sure to inspect the bearing in the torque tube..if it is frozen/corroded, the resistance will force the tranny to eat itself alive..that may be the initial cause of the seal leak..remember, in my previous posts on this subject, the immobile tube/propeller shaft bearing caused my tranny pump to absolutely destroy itself..Jacques.
