Hi everyone, the rearview mirror on my 2011 has is cloudy. I guess you can call it some kind of permanent oxidation. Does anyone know if the mirror only is available for purchase or do you have to replace the whole assembly? Thanks.

This co repaired mine with a new electrochromic mirror but he doesn’t fix electronics if they are bad. If bad I can possibly guide you to a workaround with the new glass.

Interesting - I'd be interested in the new glass workaround so I can decide which route to take. Thanks.

You need a new glass from this co. It will be electrochromic. If electronics don’t work and it has power to mirror then the electronics can be bypasses and the switch simply becomes an on off switch for the inside rear view mirror. First you have to remove the mirror and send it in so he can make a new glass for it. The new glass is clear as a bell. It may or might not dim even though it is wired to do so. Send it in and get a new glass for it. You could also replace the mirror with aftermarket ones that have a compass rear and front cameras etc. I personally don’t like the electrochromic ones I like the flip lever type. Better dimming. IMHO.
