Anyone recall an article in Road & Track some years ago with that title? Some creative gentleman managed to shoehorn a Daytona motor into a 308, the work was of very high quality and the car apparently performed quite well. Though no production conversion work of other 308s was done as far as I am aware, the step by step process, including all technical details was set out in a book that the owner produced. Anyone ever buy that book? Cheers to all.
There's a discussion going on about this right now (well within the last 2 days or so), try a few searches and you'll come up with it. Try the word "novel". May or may not help.
John I have a copy of the manual somewhere at home. It was a Daytona bottom end, but fitted with single OHC heads for clearance in the engine bay. Transverse fitment. A 330 motor or many others would work according to the owner. The manual provides something of a step by step, but even back then it was an expensive proposition with a fair amount of custom machine work and relocation of components. One point of interest, the v12 engine and trans was LIGHTER than the v8 unit... The final product was track tested and the testing report was quite favorable. I believe Norwood put a Testarossa flat 12 into a 308 at one point too. Philip
JRV did it, but the hood would not go back on, over the carb stacks....... Check with him.......Pinnacle Motorsports...
