Recommendation on Brakes for 1999 355?

Any cheap organic pad will do that job but part of a quiet braking system is having flat rotors. You want a good functioning system where the pistons move freely and the fluid is fresh and clean. Also, check for worn brake lines. Your rubber brakelines are old.

 

95 porsche 968 part# PGD608m you can buy them at lordco $65.00 and they don't squeak and very little dust

 

StopTech PosiQuiet Ceramic is a great pad. I have them on my '95 F355, Highlander and soon on my FR-S. They work great for the spirited back country drives I do with the F355.

 

In the same boat as you, Eric - in Vancouver, never track this car, got tired of the squealing brakes. they'll likely not be silent, but I've chosen to go for new front rotors (OEM) and Porterfield R4S street pads. Friends who use them say low dust and very low squeal, even without brake / pad grease.

I'll post an update once they're on the car, I'm doing them in a week or two.
