i purchased the hide to redo my drivers seat bottom off ebay. the place i got it from was a dealer with a phone number so i called and they told me what i needed as far as weight, thickness etc. they sent samples so i could compare the grain. very reasonable and good quality. i got the dye from leatherique. turned out great. if you're looking for pre made new covers check the above posts.

I bought a Connoly leather "half hide" from World Upholstery, for future use.

    http://www.worlduph.com/

Seems the Connoly leather company went under in 2002, after 125 years in business, and took with it it's trade secret tanning methods. I hear it was due to the Mad Cow disease outbreak in the UK and the subsequent destroying of the "raw materials". I'm told the former employees have reformed under a new company but I can't recall the name.

I used them. GAHH has the original colors (3218 was the beige color.) Make sure you get leather for the whole interior so everything matches.

Be VERY CAREFUL of the thickness.

I used MB leather to redo mine. I know, I know. Been repenting for over a year. :D

IMHO twice as good as Connoly, BUT TWICE as thick. I cannot punch a hole thru the seats now with a pick-axe, but making the re-covered parts fit again was a PITA. Had to cut and sand lots of "excess" leather away (can't see it).

    Just be aware .....................

IF you can mix thickness AND match color ......... GO FOR IT.

back to my interior project, was doing other mechanicals work.
I took some thread to re-originals. Looks like they get their kits direct from the factory.
has anybody used them for either the materials or the work ?

I've heard cows are a good source of leather. Try a dairy farm or slaughter house. ;)

    ReOriginals sources from Italy........

They now can do installation too, at their new location....

The leather from the UK didn't have scars as they don't use barbed wire.

They did indeed burn the herds after Mad Cow outbreak...not sure if this was directly tied to Conolloy's demise or coincidental..
