Is the paint that bad that you need 'polish?' Polish is used when you have some issues with the paint.

Assuming it's in perfect shape, I'd suggest Rejex. I've been using it on my Porsche for 3 years, and the paint looks like it is wet and went on last week.

It's a sealant, and bonds to the paint overnight after application. Makes the paint very slippery. Stunning results, and I have it on 6 cars with phenomenal results.

Again, if your paint needs work, deal with that first. If not, or thereafter, apply Rejex. More details on our site (www.bumperplugs.com, product or order page has details).

    Thanks.

I get the rasberries :) everytime i write this so here I go again.

Modern paint does not need wax polish. all that will happen is you will have to keep polishing it unless you let it wear off. Also if you are not careful you will get grit in the rag and cause swirl marks.

I have several cars and have not waxed even my older cars and they look brand new. if you must do something try these "gloss" enhancers. they seem to add a gloss but again must be redone every so often.

I just wash the car. my old 1999 Porsche sits outside. it is black and it has never been waxed. It looks new

One of my customers runs a body shop. Says the new paints need to breathe and don't need to be waxed and should not be waxed for the first 6 months at least.

    I use Zymol. :)

Please note it is very important you use "detailing Clay" before waxing!!! This will get rid of any tiny grit particles so it will not damage your paint.

    I also use Zymol...great products

There are two great sites that you can learn a great deal about detailing on, www.zymol.com and www.zainostore.com, I use both products with excellent results.
I have a starter kit with the Zymol Estate Glazes and WOW, what a wax!!!!!!!

Anyway, these are both very informitive sites.

Well, your question is very broad. There is no one great wax or sealant. They all have their advantages and drawbacks. A sealant will give you greater durability and more shine while a carnauba gives off an increase in depth of colour and reflection, but lasts short term. The best bet is to top a sealant with a carnuaba. Then you get the best of both worlds. As far as products that I like....

    wax: Zymol, P21S, Mequiars, Soverign
    sealant: Klasse, Crystal Guard, Zaino

I notice you are not far away from me. Feel free to shoot me an email or pm if you want more details. Lots of info that would bore everyone else on this forum if you really went into details, haha. Hope this helps. somewhat.

P21S is great. Easy on, easy off. Does not get the rubber parts "white" with residue. Very good product.

I use a bit of clay with Griots Speed Shine first, then apply wax.

Jack from LA recommended two coats of wax for greater depth. I have tried this and do agree. Seems to last a little longer that way too. The second coat is really a breeze to do.

    Have fun in your garage!

I use a combination of clay bar and p21s. Sometimes I will do 2 coats if i see uneven areas.

I have to say that some may not need polish but I certainly do. Ive been waxing black cars for years, micro fiber, 2 buckets, all the precautions and the spiderwebs eventually re appear.
