Hello - My wife and I leave soon to visit our daughter who is doing a semester abroad in Madrid. We have most of our trip figured out, but we are looking for recommendations for our 2 night side-trip to Porto.

Any suggestions for restaurants and/or port wine tastings/tours would be appreciated!

We aren't really foodies, but we enjoy good food, cocktails, and wine. We have no dietary restrictions and enjoy the local spots over the fancy "Michelin-starred" restaurants.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Walk the bridge...watch for the trams...then take the cable car down to the port wine district.
Nice park on the far side of the bridge, too...
Swing by the Rem Koolhaus "Casa de Musica", too.

Find the Cafe Negro across the street for some of the best Nutella waffles (with berries) you've ever eaten.

Like Art Deco? Casa de Serralves. Beautiful building

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! We just returned from Spain/Portugal and had a great time. We really enjoyed our time in southern Spain. Madrid is a fantastic city with incredible energy - and Toledo, Segovia, Seville, Granada, Cordoba were fantastic too, but all for different reasons. In Portugal, Lisbon was nice but really liked Sintra and Porto. We saw most of the things suggested here + many more. Restaurants - we kind of winged-it, but found some great meals. All in all a great trip - I'd like to go back again!
