Coming from the Dino world, I am used to doing ALL my own work and I never looked into a shop to get a car repaired in SB. I know Jack Bianchi was the recommended guy in town for the older Ferrari's a long time ago but I think he is no longer around.

So who/where do Santa Barbara people take their toys for work, my 360 is here in 5 days it hopefully won't need work for a while :) but thought I would ask now, I would hate for the nearest place that has a SD2 and can reliably do work on the car to be in Los Angeles. With the F1 system it looks like a owner can't even do something simple like replace a clutch without the SD2.

Hate to tell you Mike but it's LA if you need something that requires a SD2. Jesus at Mastercraft seems to be able to do some of the work but I don't think they have the SD2. The good news is that I've taken Amtrak as a good way to get back if you drop the car off at Auto Gallery. The train station is less than a couple of miles away.

BTW, Jack is very much around and a regular at Cars & Coffee.

You found a 360??!! Congratulations, can't wait to see it! Spider or hardtop?

The only guys I know of in SB don't have the SD2, sorry I can't help you there.

Let me correct my comment about Jack :) I don't think he owns the shop anymore and I don't think he works on these anymore, I remember him doing the work on Corbani's 246GT many years ago as a "favor" as he was trying to retire from daily wrenching, could be wrong since I did my own work I did not keep track.

Auto Gallery is the place in Calabassas ? right off the freeway ? is that right ?

And yeah, I got a 360 Chris...funny how things work out, I never even considered something that new since I knew I could not work on it, then BOOM and overnight I owned a 360, I fly out on Friday to get it and will drive it home, sorry won't be back in town in time for C&C this sunday.

Its a Coupe and I even like the color :) The only thing I don't like is the F1 because it prevents me from doing the clutch but in a weird way, I am looking forward to the F1 for driving. Still have not seen it in person, can't wait.

Very nice Mike. We'll have to eventually hook up to check out the 360/car lifts. I went to C&C for the first time last week...maybe we'll see each other there. I got a chance to meet Monte, Chris, Mike, Jeff, and Jose...good bunch of guys.

Beautiful car Mike! What's the interior color?

Unfortunately not a lot of choices for mechanics. Not sure about Jesus, is he a holdover for when Jack owned the shop? I'd probably have Emilio(alfa guy) do some things on mine, but not on a modern Ferrari.

Winning Makes is another possibility. But they seem to primarily be restorers and work on older cars too. Julian is the owner. They mostly do English cars but they service and restore a fair number of Ferraris.

Sounds like Auto Gallery is the best bet for the stuff you can't do.

I have a 308 Vetroresina arriving off a boat in about a month. Is there any recent news on who can do good service on carbed Ferraris in SB? I'd like to drive it up from LA and have a major done in SB if possible. If no one good locally, I guess I'll start looking in LA. Thanks for any help!

For the 360, perhaps. For the 308 neither.
GTO or Fast Cars for the carb car.
