You've done a great job there of putting positive spin on something that doesn't look that positive! They've bought loads of things. Made a mess of some of them that they're now trying to back out of. Plus they're trying to monetise (racing) content that is free on other sites. Interesting that the link gives no mention of profits. Whilst I certainly don't think FerrariChat is likely to be closing down any time soon I'm far from convinced about Motorsport Network's business plans, whatever they are.

As an aside, I don't know who redesigned the Motorsport.com website but it certainly isn't an improvement.

I know the angle you are coming from, but honestly I don't think you have a complete clue. Answer me these questions...

Who does FerrariChat report to 100%?

Like at FerrariChat, what % of content is premium at Motorsport.com and is it required to subscribe?

What are all these other free Motorsport websites that have no ads on them?

Motorsport struggling when main automotive properties (including FerrariChat) up 145% in one year and racing properties up 34%?

Tell me a conglomerate that owns dozens of companies that isn't constantly buying and selling to realign itself?

Yavor has only been there 6 months and has made many recent changes, I wouldn't paint him with the same stroke as the past or bet against him. All that said refer to my first question, it doesn't impact FerrariChat at all.

No, I think you mistake the "angle I'm coming from".

I'm not suggesting any impact on FerrariChat. In fact I rather thought I had said the opposite. In any case, if there were issues maybe you could do a Bernie Ecclestone and buy it back for half what you sold it for!

I don't know what proportion of content at Motorsport.com is premium but I understood (second-hand, I confess) that they had recently introduced a limit to free articles and certainly arbitrarily there appear to be many more premium articles than previously. That said, they did have a very strange set up previously whereby articles were premium on Autosport.com but the exact same article was free on Motorsport.com.

I didn't suggest there were free Motorsport websites with no ads and I don't see why ads or not is relevant. But I do suggest it is hard to make money by charging for content on the Internet when there are many free alternatives. But equally I'm not saying it is impossible.

Sites visits up is good, of course, but businesses need to make money and I found it interesting that there was no mention of that.

I'm not personally betting for or against anyone. I am merely an interested observer as a long term consumer of FerrariChat and various other elements of the Motorsport Network empire.

Its not very tactful to take the announcement linked above about Autosport's future out of the free allowance is it ?
