Red 355 GTS UT $$

I didn't think HW made a red GTS----I know they made a yellow and a black put together---pics?

 

I saw a red one in my friend's home who bought it in Toyrus a few years ago....

 

UT makes the GTS with red sport seats and red without sport seats---Never seen a HW version in red...

Repaint---not stock color---that's one reason it has no box OR it is one of the new releases from HW that has not hit the market yet...-that is user slk99's model...

how often do these come up? I don't really want to pay the 35$ shipping especially without a box, but I haven't seen one of these for quite while

They don't come up at all! This model is a repaint or a pre-production model for a future release----HW did not make a 355 GTS in red and tan..HW is supposed to release several new 355's for this year. I am betting this is one of those that was from a pre-production run and this model got out of the factory somehow. If this is a new future release it will be offered for around $35 brand new in the box when the release happens....

First of all if you pay $100 for this, even if it includes the shipping, you should make an appointment with your local mental health outfit.
There are few things that strike as weird.
The side markers are of the European kind like on the UT, but appear to be just painted on, not molded, yet the models is clearly not a UT made model.
Behind the wheels are some brakes visible but are all black and are not like what is found on the regular HW models.
The interior is a strange mix. The dash is all black and so are the door panels, yet the seats and floor are tan.

This is what I personally think. Even if I would not by this even for $50 I am glad to see it and would have loved to take a closer look in person. If HW intend to make an "Elite" version of it, it would have a real hard time against the regular Hot Wheels Ferrari 355s made so far, so in their typical fashion they would first introduce a new extra crappy version of it and then "WOW US" with their elite. There are characteristic methods employed on this model. The inaccurate interior. The brakes that are going to be just like on the Elite but don't spin and are just black molded plastic and the decals for side markers. This would give us a clue as what the Elite may look like. It would have real Euro side markers, simply because is easier to make two clear plastic dots that fit in a round hole, than making four square, bigger ones of two different colors and redoing the moldings for the bumpers. It would have brakes with solid(not ventilated)disks that rotate with the tires and the usual interior carpet and belts. The sad part is that they would most likely do nothing with the body which proves how good the current model is. Opening hood up front would be nicer though.

 

I have the yellow HW GTS and it's pretty bad, the rear lights are too small, the engine cover is cheap plastic, trust me you don't want it. And $100, no way it is worth that, you can get a UT for just $20 more than that

 

And I got a yellow UT GTS in the box!!

 

I think I bought my yellow Ut 355GTS for $35 when they first came out, or less. I don't remember. I still have it mint in its box. It has regular all black seats. Now whenever I see one for sale it is always with sport seats.

 

All UT F355 GTS has 2 tone color seat

 

Wrong. Both red and yellow were made also with regular seats like in the Berlinettas.
