Nobody has talked about this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150126439979&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:middle:us 11 hours to go, no reserve, $29k. Anyone like them in red?
Good day Dave, Yes, this one was mentioned in a previous thread. No real discussion, just a mention of it on Ebay... which leads me to the following... What is interesting, is that I believe this is the same car that has been for sale and sold on Ebay 2 other times in the last few months. The first time it had one bidder and sold for $26K, then a week or two later it up again... The seller stated that the bidder did not go through with the deal. This 2nd Ebay auction it was sold again, but I do not remember the price. I did contact the bidder and he did seem to be quite forthcoming with information, however, I ultimately decided that I wanted a manual shift. Cheers, Sam
Yep, you're correct, I found it in my database. #66557 ZFFYD24B000066557 412 Automatic Red/Cream 1987 Once owned by Werner Leroy (proprietor of New York Citys Tavern on the Green and Russian Tea Room) 1999 for sale Shelton Ferrari (FL) $52.5k 10k miles, 10/03 for sale Ferrari of Atlanta (GA) $53.9k, 1/04 sold at Barrett Jackson auction $48.6k, 4/04 for sale via Ferrari & Maserati of Atlanta (GA) $49.5k, 4/07 for sale Ebay (Canada) $26k 21k miles,
Sam's right. It's been on ebay a couple of times. I too sell a few cars on ebay and I do agree that one car can sell a couple of times to dead-beats. Maybe that's what happened to this chap.
?????Seems strange or something that the car has so much recent history w/ reputable agents selling in the hi 40's-lo 50's and all of a sudden it's in the 20's. There's a situation goin' on! Hey Aiden, do you remember Peter listing my car saying "you don't want one of these (400's) in red, they look awful in that color!"? Shows diversity amongst owners.
Yes, I do remember that. Its a bit daft to say that as he might have to back-pedal if he sells a red one in the future. I know he had a red/tan 5-speed for sale in early 2003 (when I moved to the US and started looking for one in earnest), and don't recall him slagging off the color then! Aidan
Interesting! We'll have to wait and see--I suspect he would say 'nothing' when a red one comes through. I always thought Rosso Corso was reserved for race cars, not 2+2 GT's. Bruce
