    Hello to All...

I have a friend who has been chasing a few electrical gremlins on his '72 GTS - US Spec. He needs to buy a new Marelli Voltage Regulator (RTT101C - I think). It is the transitorized kind (red box). I know Dennis M has one (used) and also carries the solid state type. Any ideas who might have one?

Thanks in advance for the help

Any 3 terminal Chrysler, etc. regulator works fine. Replacement for 80s/90s vintage cars. 12 volts in, alternator field out and ground. Mount on one of the bolts used for old regulator. Has worked fine for 10-15 years. Pep Boys or Kragen or...
Or spend lots of money for ancient technology in a correct box.

I just bought a spare, red Voltage Regulator for USA Dinos (more for the case than anything else).

I'm trying to confirm it is dead with increasing Voltage input and measuring the field output.
For testing it, are "D" cell batteries strong enough to excite the circuits for progressive charging voltage points?
Do I understand correctly that the field current is inverse to the charging? The Field output I'm seeing is consistently 1V below output spanning 9V to 15.5V

Just had the spare Red Box Marelli Voltage Regulator tested by an auto electric specialist and it is fully operational.

So, while D cells are OK for testing the mechanical VRs they are not for the Red Box electronic ones.
