Ok again shamelessly nicked from another forum, but worth a watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhF_Zp8nM7o Wonder how fast he could have gone if it was dry?
Brilliant! But there's hardly anybody there to watch it! And what's wrong with that person with an umbrella? He's casually crossing the road..... wouldn't you stop and look astonished to see a F1 car on the road?? Maybe it takes a lot more to surprise Brazilian people.
They drive a lot faster in Driven through "Chicago". I like that movie, recently watched it for about the fourth time. Actually the footage reminded me more of Monaco. Sao Paulo is quite hilly and would make a great street circuit. I'd rather have that than Interlagos. Regardless, a great video.
I also liked Driven. Sure the Chicago chase scene was CGI but it was cool nonetheless. I remember when the cop watches them through the tunnel, sees 195mph on his radar gun...."I need some backup.." damn right you do. While this amazing Formula One racecar was racing through city streets, with lucky people being able to see it that close with no guardrails or barriers or peoples heads infringing there view, listening to it scream from jumping distance...I was sitting in a freakin classroom, trying to stay awake and wondering just what I wouldn't give to be at the king's very last Grand Prix race.
Actually I thought the chase scene was partially real and shot in the streets of Miami. Once in a while you can spot a palm tree. Those are rare in Chicago. I always love it when they do a promo stunt on public roads. Like Sauber in Kuala Lumpur or Jaguar in New York. Makes me wish there were more street races on the F1 calendar. These anonymous Tilke tracks are just looking one like the other.
