For some in the Red Bull GMbH organisation, Horner has been taking important decisions without consulting them.
The 50/50 partnership between Red Bull Racing and Porsche had already received Dieter Mateschitz' blessing.
Horner didn't like it because he would have been loosing some control, so he decided to terminate it.
Now RBR was to become engine builder, which alarmed the management of the parent company in Austria.
Ford was found to partly finance RB Powertrains, but it remains that Horner engaged Red Bull to invest massively.
The Austrian management didn't approve, and the plot to get rid of him probably came from there.
It's a struggle between corporate executives jousting for power following Mateschitz' passing.
Horner survived the misconduct accusation, but important staff left following the dispute.

When selecting the new pope the smoke burns black out of the Vatican chimney. At the time of the selection the smoke turns white.

Wheatley's departure will be a big loss to Red Bull. Whether you find his conduct at AbuDhabi in 2021 admirable or not, it was his manipulation of Masi that allowed Max to win the race and title. No 'credit' to Horner there. Over many years, Wheatley has also been an effective and much-needed buffer between the race crew and the constant BS and weirdness of the team's upper management. He's going to be extremely hard to replace, but promoting someone from within the team would be an intelligent start.

RedBull is considering taking Checo to the older spec RB20 that he first started out with in the beginning of the season.

Logistically that will be not fun. Specific parts etc etc. He needs to adapt to the new car and get results......................oh wait lol :)

Red Bull: Refining RB20 to suit Perez will mean quicker car overall

Red Bull says it’s doubling down on its efforts to optimize its RB20 Formula 1 car for both of its drivers, aiming to help Sergio Perez overcome recent struggles and ultimately enhance overall team performance.

Thats assuming Perez can adapt........at all lol! :)

I know that some Pope did:

Pope Urban VIII is quoted to have said, upon learning the death of Cardinal de Richelieu (December 4, 1642), his old adversary:
"Se gli è un Dio, lo pagara! Ma veremente se non c’è Dio, galant uomo!"
[If there is a God, he will now pay! But, really, if there is no God, what a famous man!]

Dump Perez and hire Bottas. Frankly not a bad idea overall. 10 wins. Perez is literally with 2 years of the inability to adapt etc.

    https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/ignored-solution-red-bull-driver-crisis-valtteri-bottas/

--Bottas outqualified Hamilton around one-third of the time when they were sharing the garage, while Perez has only managed that eight times in 80 attempts against Verstappen – only a few of those on merit.

Bottas is also available for 2025 - or at least, he is until the point where Audi, if it is sensible, signs him up again. --

Do you think Audi will sign Bottas again?

A Bottas-Hulkenberg duo doesn't look very strong for Audi as there are about to "burst" into F1.

They are both only average drivers.

Bottas stat on outqualifying LH is more than Checo has ever done. Bottas has double digit wins. To drive along-side Max, above average he is and certainly more than Checo ever will be. Checo is borderline average on a good day. Has adaptability issues to say the least.
