I’d like to think it’s the team with a car that’s been fast at all tracks and especially in low fuel conditions. Mostly I hope it’s not Ferrari, LOL.
It's Red Bull... https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/13235362/red-bull-change-car-after-confirming-controversial-device-exists
I really hope this is not the real explanation for their outrageous domination from Spa 2022 to Miami this year.. This would be hugely dommageable for the sport.
Seems this is not the case fortunately, people are already busy in bashing the F80 design then we don’t have to endure another Ferrari demolition game about F1 either !
Yes only added for aesthetics lol right gents lol?? Absurd and ridiculous. Please just stop talking. Red Bull drivers deny front bib device boosted car performance Verstappen and Perez deny ride height altering device had been helping Red Bull following the intrigue at Formula 1’s US GP
lol, did anyone read on how the device works? Y'all are headline warriors, the device sits in the footwell, can only be adjusted with a tool and with the front nose removed. Unless other data added it was a quick way to lower ride height
All teams have such a system, although it is understood that Red Bull's is unique in it being accessible from inside the car - so it is hidden from view to outside observers.
Correct To add to this, the adjustment is tool-operated, not hand-operated and, thus, would not be in breach of Article 40.9 of the Sporting Regulations. Details emerge on how Red Bull’s bib height adjustment is operated More details have emerged about Red Bull’s controversial ride height adjustment device, which allowed the team to adjust the front bib clearance of the RB20 although never during Grands Prix given its location. Ahead of the United States Grand Prix, it was reported that one unnamed team was suspected of exploiting a ride height adjustment system on their cars. Red Bull’s system wasn’t adjustable during Grands Prix Additional reporting by Elizabeth Blackstock The area concerned refers to the ‘bib’ or ‘T-tray’, a key aerodynamic component located beneath the car. Adjusting its position affects airflow and how air enters the tunnels under the car’s floor. According to the initial report, the possibility of such a device existing was spotted in the open-source documents that the teams furnish to the FIA regarding their car’s designs. Red Bull held up their hands revealing they had such a system and had been in correspondence with the FIA regarding it. “Yes it exists although it is inaccessible once the car is fully assembled and ready to run,” a senior team representative confirmed to PlanetF1.com. “In the numerous correspondence we have with the FIA, this part came up and we have agreed a plan going forward.” There is, however, no evidence that the reigning World Champions ever used the system under parc fermé conditions between qualifying and races, nor will Red Bull have to make adjustments to the car. According to Speedcafe, the drivers also cannot adjust it from the cockpit during a Grand Prix given the location of the system, which is found underneath the footwell. The screw mechanism is located under the element that supports the driver’s feet and it requires a tool to adjust, making in-race changes impossible. The publication explained that in order to adjust it, not only does the nose cone of the car have to be removed but the mechanics still have to get through another panel and a carbon section to make an adjustment. Sergio Perez admits drivers ‘knew’ bib trick existed Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has confirmed he knew about the bib trick but that it “was not” available to the drivers to play with. “There has been nothing that we were doing,” he told media including PlanetF1.com. “We didn’t actually talk about it. It was impossible. https://www.planetf1.com/news/details-emerge-how-red-bulls-bib-height-adjustment-operated
Yet lol! McLaren wants FIA to investigate Red Bull further over front bib adjuster The FIA has been asked to dig deeper to be sure that Red Bull did not break F1’s parc ferme rules He also played short shrift to comments from Red Bull that claimed the adjustment could not be made when the car was fully assembled. “When you see cleverly worded comments like you can't do it when it's fully assembled…I know the car isn't always fully assembled," added Brown. "And then the FIA feels they need to put a seal on it. Why would the FIA need to put a seal on something if it wasn't accessible? “Transparency is critically important in today's day and age. So I still have questions. I know from talking to other team bosses, they still have questions. So until those questions are answered, I think it is still an ongoing investigation to bottom out, you know: what do we know? “I'd like some more answers before I'm prepared to kind of go: 'Right, I guess they were or they weren't.' But I think the FIA will bottom it out.”
Red Bull Racing reportedly made sure it could not use the much-discussed 'trick' on the floor of the RB20 even before the Singapore Grand Prix following a warning from the FIA. The Austrian Formula 1 team was reportedly reminded after qualifying that its use was not allowed under the parc fermé rules.
Nicolas Tombazis from.the FIA, after interviewing with Button, Brundle and the other F1 commentator, said that the Bib-T-tray adjustment from RedBull is a non-issue as they have checked with RedBull and RedBull have been in compliance regarding the matter. COTA pre Sprint Qualifying.
Yet were warned before Singapore lol. Let’s say it’s all ok now??? After warning lol. They are literally covering their a— after this was exposed or leaked.
There were 2 FIA officials in the garage with a RedBull mechanic (Ted Kravitz was there as well commenting) and the RedBull mechanic took a tool(looked like wrench with an extension) to show the FIA officials how the Bib-T-tray was accessed and manipulated. I don't know how ANYONE could not see this under parc ferme conditions as the alleged story(s) have been claiming.
The media fanfare around it reeks as if it was stirred up by rival teams, especially a certain team that had to change their wings and can now possibly see the effect from it. They don't have much to lose by stirring it up: If RB does well, the negative attention was on them. If RB didn't do well, even more people would pile on them being ''cheaters''. Mclaren did pretty poorly yesterday and everyone is talking about the bib adjustment still. Mission accomplished.
These public denunciations to put the media spotlight on rivals have become common occurence in F1. False flags are now part of the "phoney war" among top teams.
Yup. And F1/FIA themselves don't really manage it well at all, either. When this news came to light it was poorly worded, implying that it was adjustable from the drivers controls, not naming the team. ALL top teams got accused of it within minutes, causing further discourse between F1 fans. And they wonder why they need to make statements that everyone needs to get along all the time. Had they done it properly and demonstrated it using a video and explained it as it is, it would've been a non story. Perhaps F1/FIA just banks on clicks.
