They like ricci but it's obvious they see Verstappen as their next golden child. I hope to see Ricciardo at Ferrari next year he'll be more popular than ever.

So McLaren banks on Alonso and RB banks on Max. Both will be running Renault engines in their cars during their contracts.

    I'll bet on Max.

Surely they must've tapped up elton though? No? Obviously ain't as good as the teenager then, good call red bull

    Hehehehehehehe. Heads exploding yet? Hahahahahaha

Seriously, red bull must be investing in the future to have put the money in to keep Maxine, he's the hottest property in f1 at the moment. This may mean that they intend to stay after all, so will be see a massive investment over the next few years, maybe helping Renault with facilities and brains to get their engine ahead of Mercedes?

Ferrari will be in a quandry, do they move for ricciardo, and potentially lose vettel, or stay with vettel who has the potential, or will vettel give up on his dream of emulating schumi, the team isn't what it was with Todt, Brawn, Byrne and di montezemolo running the show, marchionne won't want a driver dictating to the team as Michael did

Has he got a bloody time machine then? Oh, Deloreans had Renault engines though, and the red bull can get to 88!

Same here. Will be a joy to watch Mclaren in the mix with Alonso next year trying to hold of Verstappen (he's bound to be ahead at some points)

I don't know if Vettel will allow Ricciardo into Ferrari in 2019. Mercedes or Renault seems more likely?

I'm really disappointed by this, I was hoping to see Max go head-to-head with Lewis at Mercedes. Max is a great talent but gaining positions by being a bully-boy is not cool.

    Max's new contract is:
    min 10m signing bonus
    50 mil over 3 years
    50K per point scored
1.5 million per win on top of that

He's worth every penny. Good deal for him and RB.
