Rubbish. The demands of F1 are far too great for token hires to last very long, whatever their gender and whatever the job. I think F1 can be genuinely proud of the growing participation of women in all aspects of the sport over the last decade or two, and the women can be equally proud of their contributions.
Excellent post vs the must use snowflake at every opportunity group here. Funny as they epitomize the word with the LH move to Ferrari lol.
Ahhh Grid Girls, Sporting Director would be more appropriate.Should never have cancelled them in the first place.
Broken News Service: Rus hackers have intercepted communications - Wheatley: "Masi, Doesn't F1 want REAL shocking news? Not Sir's move to Ferrari. No, no, no. Let's give the fans REAL shocking news. Have LH hold the news lead, let Lando's and Charles' news pass him by and catch up with the back of the field (Gunther, Albon, Rici,...). Put RB news right behind Lew. Then, near the last possible moment, before the season starts, RB will implode and take the News Lead! Everyone will forget about Sir Lew and Fred, and RB will be Headline Champs again. Michael, don't you speak Dutch?"
You may be on to something that this is a pretty pathetic attempt from F1 to create more **** headlines in the hope people will tune in this season.
No offense intended. But wait a minute ......you served as a Marine....Aggressive Management style is normal. Imagine if every Marine could complain if their feelings were hurt.
Oh, for sure. Well, it used to be that way. Different world now. That's one reason I retired. To soft.
Don't they have stress cards in some other service outfits when the recruit is being stressed too much by the D.I.?
When the recruit feels he or she or whatever feels too stressed by the drill instructor and raises it up in front of the D.I. like "You're stressing me out!!!....so stop!"
I'm 53. I oversee financial analyst teams at my company and I can tell you that the "snowflake" syndrome is not just about mean managers. In my larger finance group, many hires under 30 either quit or get fired. The last person I had to let go, could rarely work on Mondays. He found it "too much" to get in and needed an extra day to "mentally reset." He used up all his vacation and sick time in the first several months and didn't care if his absences went unpaid afterward. He cried several times in our weekly meetings. Unfortunately, this is common... very common. However, there's a carve out of these generations that are utterly fantastic. They remind me of myself and my peers who came in and wanted to set the world on fire. Its actually a pleasure interacting with these hires. They're young and have fresh eyes and appreciate the experience and guidance that management applies. I empower my teams to "question everything, change anything" if it makes it better. But unfortunately, most are more worried about their pronouns, getting their dog to yoga class, and the number of mental health days they have.
By the way, there are no statements from any party indicating whether the complainant is male or female...
Yep. Look at Musk and what he did to X formerly known as Twitter. He got rid of 7500 employees and all the perks(lunches etc.) and the saved the company millions on a per annual basis just on cutting the lunch perks X runs on less than a thousand employees currently I believe. Talk about trimming the FAT!!
Totally get it . I work for an British company - and DEI is a huge annual training we have to go through. I personally dont always agree, but it is something our times require so I go with it. certainly does not hurt.
As I understand it they do. Lots you cant do anymore. Just before I went to Paris Island was then a DI was drunk and marched his platoon into the swamp in the middle of the night. As I recall a few recruits died. Now its to easy.
My dad, Air Force at Minot North Dakota(Missle Base), had his D.I. kick him in the shin of his leg with the steel toe and kicked him in the same spot all the time. My dad is in his 80's and still remembers the D.I.'s name. Times had definitely changed....for the worse imo.
War is an unforgiving vocation. You need to be able to take a little pain. Most of it was to understand that you needed to do as you were told right NOW and not as a bunch of questions. At that level, questions get folks dead.
I won’t tell you what’s going on in France right now with young generations. Because you wouldn’t believe it.. In the end civilizations which have no more will deserved to disappear.
I used to hear the same from my grand father, 70 years ago. No civilisation stand still. It's permanent evolution, and the winners are those who adapt the quickest and make the most of the change.
