I have heard recently that new ferrari customers cannot purchase a red ferrari as their first car. they have to own, or have owned one, before they could buy a red Ferrari. Is this true?
    thanks

I have to say that there something about the tone and manner of how you phrased the question that I don't like, but there are elements that are true IMO -- e.g., a newbie isn't going to be able to walk into an authorized F dealer and buy the latest (desirable) model in red (if it looks good in red) for MSRP upon his/her demand, and conversely, a 2+2, if in an unflattering shade, might be readily available at MSRP to a newbie.

When you say "they have to own, or have owned one, before" this should be replaced by "they need a relationship with an authorized F dealer" which can mean being a repeat customer as you state, but it can also mean "having fame" or "having money".
