Hi guys, Just a quick question, I drive my QV every weekend (weather permitting), and every Sunday night my routine is to give her a quick wipe down with a moist chamiose, cover her up and kiss her good night, until next weekend. My question is, I also disconnect the Red Connector found up front, under the spare wheel well. Am i doing any damage disconnecting this every weekend? I connect it, turn the ignition on and leave it for 30 seconds, then I crank her up and she starts like a dream. My stereo is disconnected ready for permanent removal along with the speakers, so there is no resetting of this. I am just thinking of the computers found in the boot space. Any thoughts or experiences?
I don't disconnect the battery if I drive her every two to three weeks. If you drive her every week, is it really necessary? You need to reset the clock every time unless it's just for decoration.
It wount do any harm, it will only lengthen the life of your'e battery, you can clean the red connector terminals once in a while for proper contact connection.
Thanks for the reply guys, yes I disconnect it seemly to extend the life of the battery. I have replaced many batteries over the years simply from not enough use. As for teh clock, my QV has the clock hidden near the arm rest so it is too difficulty to view. I haven't set it in years lol
