Well, I had this sorted, until I did not! I need a new red lens, and a Chatter was kind enough to send me a complete unit. Finally getting around to installation this weekend... As I tested it, it was NOT working....a neighbor distracted me and in discussing the car vs. His Corvette, I smashed the new unit.! So, there's a plastic chrome trim ring as it came, that is not used on the early cars. They are retained by a metal trim plate screwed to the door. None of this was obvious, but NOW I know! Anyway, anyone has a red jewel only, or the comnplete assembly was not expensive. And I have NO idea what lamp is required for this location, just that it's small! Once my lens was smashed, I could see the lamp was missing altogether! Lamp assembly # and vendor: Lamp Info: I thought that my old one had smashed against a loose seat belt buckle, butt actually it's also in line to hit the Rear Cover Latch handle, if it's not returned flush, into the hoousing. TIA!!!
Not without removing it from the door.... I'll just have them lamp it at the vendor. I reaaly thought mine was a "take off" and did not even check I keew when it stayed dark upon testing I had an issue. Then smashing it to bits caused TWO issues.
