Hi, Taking the "new" car back to dealer to have passenger side window checked as not closing/sealing properly. I understand this is not too uncommon and requires an in door window guide alignment or similar (I hope). Today, noticed the red alarm LED light left of the steering column on the dash is staying on (steady) when the car is running, but does turn off and then flashes once the car is locked. Does the light being on steadily when the car is running signify anything that needs attention? (I think I saw something around the chats that talks about a battery issue? I would try to look it up myself but leaving soon so thought maybe I could get some quicker replies this way Thanks!
It's just a battery in the alarm siren that is burned out. If the board is still intact you can cut it open and replace the old battery with a rechargeable 9v battery on a lead. IF its hopelessly corroded (very likely) you'll need to replace it. A Chevy part can be had for cheap or the Ferrari part can be used. Chevy part gets rid of the LED but in many cars doesn't beep when alarm triggered. Chirps with door lock though.. Alignment of window is easy once door is opened.
