Is this the Red-line gear oil that is being used . I am using Mobil 1 now and am doing my fluid changes shortly . Just want to make sure my 77 gets the good stuff.

RED LINE 75W90 GL5 GEAR OIL 1 Qt.Red Line 75W90 GEAR OIL - recommended for most street driven and racing differentials. Excellent performance in conventional and limited-slip units. Also for limited-slip manual transaxles which require a 90 WT oil. Contains limited-slip friction modifiers. Red Line 75W90 Gear Oil - the preferred product in nearly all car and light truck differentials, both conventional and limited-slip. 75W90 is preferred for most racing applications. It contains friction modifier which is recommended for limited-slip units. 75W90 Gear Oil can be used in many transmissions and transaxles; however, other Red Line lubricants have better frictional properties for rapid synchronization. Exceeds API GL-5.

The 308/328 shares oil between the gearbox and differential -- the limited slip friction modifiers interfere with the synchros. You can use the 75W90NS that doesn't have the LS diff modifiers, but you might want to add just enough of the diff additive (available separately) to keep the rear diff from chattering in turns.

Or you can mix in one or two quarts of 75W90 with the rest 75W90NS to get a similar effect.

If you do a search on "LSD modifier" you can probably find the amount of additive others are using.

BTW: Make sure you do the change in a well ventillated area -- that used gear oil is nasty stuff. I put the 75W90NS in the Alfa's gearbox and the 75W90 in the rear diff, and it works great. But the vapors burned out my nose hairs. ;) Next time, I'm going in MOP3.
