I bought myself a gorgeous 2002 360 Spider today and it's perfect (and complete) in every respect other than the fact that the red remote is missing. First of all, what's the function of the red remote? Secondly, are they expensive to acquire and program?

    Thanks a lot.

PS - I'll be selling my 1977 308 GTB (which is also gorgeous). If you know anybody who might be interested ...

You don't need it. All you need is your two black fobs, you said you were only missing the red so I am assuming you have two black. Hopefully you also got the alarm pin card in your owner's manual booklet. If you must have the red one to, then you will have to buy an entire new fob set, from my understanding you can't just buy one red one.

I must say Terry it is awfully nice of you to keep posting that attachment. I have seen this question come up over and over again, now I see why some of the "veterans" post some of their nasty responses when people don't spend any time seaching a section.

Mark- Most of the newbies do not even know how to do a search (not you Dude, you have been here longer than I have) and certainly have no idea about how the alarm system works. I know I did not when I bought my car with one black fob with a run-down battery and, luckily, the original PIN. Takes about 30 seconds to repost, way faster than I can reference an earlier thread.

Guard the second remote w/ your life. My first 360 came w only one black key fob and you guess it. It was a pain. I made sure the next three 360 I acquired came w/ extra key(s). Should you need it, Ferrari of SF has the best price. It runs around $1500 for a set of (2 blk and one red). This doesn't include the cost of reprograming :)

Tom- That sounds like the price for a new Alarm ECU and three matching new fobs. A set of three fobs and PIN should only be about $750.

I try searching the forums everytime before I post, sometimes I find what I am looking for, most of the time I do not and after I post low and behold another member will post a link for exactly what I was looking for.... maybe I am stupid and not searching correctly?
example... somebody posted the link to all the members garages, later I wanted to finish looking at the garages but could not find the post so I entered "garage" in the search field and got nothing...

That's why I asked for an additional $4500 off the original blow out price:

Car cover missing: $400 Ebay new
Tool kit missing: $550 Ebay new
    Front bumper respray: $550
    Curbed Wheel Refinish: $100
    Cambelt service: $1500-1800
    Key Fob set: $750

Total $3850 and still ahead $650. Maybe a clear bra for the front bumper will finish things up?

Must have the file saved to your desktop for the amount of times you have posted it. Still nice you do it without any bs comments.

Maybe one of the moderators can make a sticky up top for this and the 430 exhaust issue, those seem to be two of the most commonly asked questions on these cars.

Edward- The last time I asked for a sticky on a thread with a whole lot more information, including fobs, Rob said no.
